Hiro is currently based in Cairo, Egypt.  He travels around the Middle East and North Africa taking documentary art photographs of people and images of the Arab Culture and landscape.

His photographs were part of an exhibition at Town House Gallery in downtown Cairo in 2005. His images are available as postcards and original prints.  He also does photography for magazine and his photos have been used by "Illustrado".

As an actor, Hiro Arai's debut was in a starring role in the 1986 Anglo/French production movie called "Captive". He is in a starring role in a new movie "A Fairy Tale of Sand" which was filmed in Egypt by Japanese director Yukinari Hanawa (First Love, Tokyo Skin).

エジプトのカイロ在住。アラビア半島と北アフリカを旅しながら、ドキュメンタリー・アートをテーマに、人物ポートレートと
アラブ文化や自然風景などのイメージ撮影を続ける。
 
2005年、エジプトのカイロにある「タウンハウス・ギャラリー」にて、写真展を開催する。

雑誌掲載「ILLUSTRADO(アラブ首長国連邦）」、「SKIN（ヨルダン）」など。
 
1986年、英仏合作映画「CAPTIVE」で俳優デビュー。
エジプトで撮影された「砂の童話(2007年）」塙幸成監督（「TOKYO SKIN」「初恋」）に
主演し、10年間休業していた俳優活動を再開する。
